But when the narration reveals that he is going to die, Harold must find the author of the story, and ultimately his life, to convince her to change the ending of the story before it is too late. The narration alters the perspective of the viewer and makes for a hilarious stoner movie. Watch this one with friends!
An action-thriller about a writer who takes an experimental drug that allows him to use 100% of his mind. As one man evolves into the perfect version of himself, forces more corrupt than he can imagine mark him for assassination. Watching a movie that details the ability to use 100% of your brain when your stoned from smoking something that does the exact opposite is a rather hilarious experience to endure. Enjoy!

In this movie, Truman is a man whose life is a fake one. The place he lives is in fact a big studio with hidden cameras everywhere, and all his friends are actors who play their roles in the most popular TV-series in the world: The Truman Show. Truman thinks that he is an ordinary man with an ordinary life and has no idea about how he is exploited. Until one day… he finds out everything. Originally inspired by an episode of The Twilight Zone called “Special Service” this stoner movie will throw you for a loop even after the credits roll.
Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. If you have already seen this movie it need not be said how amazing it is to watch while stoned. Once the movie is over you will have to remind yourself that you aren’t actually in a dream. Watching this with friends is a requirement as it’s the only way to remind yourself that you’re not insane later.
Buddy was a baby in an orphanage who stowed away in Santa’s sack and ended up at the North Pole. Later, as an adult human who happened to be raised by elves, Santa allows him to go to New York City to find his birth father, Walter Hobbs. Hobbs, on Santa’s naughty list for being a heartless jerk, had no idea that Buddy was even born. Buddy, meanwhile, experiences the delights of New York City (and human culture) as only an elf can. This is the king of all stoner movies to watch on the holidays. Snag some gingerbread cookies and enjoy it any time of year.
Howl’s Moving Castle (2004)
A love story between an 18-year-old girl named Sofî, cursed by a witch into an old woman’s body, and a magician named Hauru. Sofî sets out to seek her fortune in Hauru’s strange moving castle. In the castle, Sophie meets Hauru’s fire demon, named Karishifâ. The demon makes a deal with Sophie–if she breaks the contract he is under with Hauru, then Karushifâ will lift the curse that Sophie is under, and she will return to her 18-year-old shape. Anime movies are always great to watch when stoned. Give this one a shot and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Bruce Almighty (2003)
Bruce Nolan, a television reporter in Buffalo, N.Y., is discontented with almost everything in life despite his popularity and the love of his girlfriend Grace . At the end of the worst day of his life, Bruce angrily ridicules and rages against God and God responds. God appears in human form and, endowing Bruce with divine powers, challenges Bruce to take on the big job to see if he can do it any better. Everyone would jump at the opportunity to play God. Into The Wild (2007)
Based on a true story. After graduating from Emory University, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandoned his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters who shape his life. This inspiring movie is compelling even in a sober state which makes it even more powerful as one of our favorite stoner movies. Enjoy this one on a camping trip for added fun.
Being John Malkovich (1999)
An unemployed puppeteer in a forlorn marriage discovers a portal that leads into the head of the movie star, John Malkovich. Encouraged to find work in an office his new position becomes more and more strange. One day finding a small door hidden behind a filing cabinet the puppeteer finds himself in the mind of actor John Malkovich; able to observe and sense whatever Malkovich does for 15 minutes before he is ejected and dropped into a ditch near the New Jersey Turnpike. After this movie you may have to be reminded no one is in your head.
